I’m using it for my first attempt at a semi-long range gps quad. Quite versatile for mounting electronics and other hardware. Xl6 frame, kakute f4 aio v2 flight controller (on inav 2. 1), unify pro vtx, x4r-sb receiver, neo m8n gps, runcam split 2s camera, hakrc 35a esc’s, brotherhobby r6 2205 motors, diymall oled display, hc-12 module for long range telemetry, and lots of time for trial and error.
Way to narrow to fit much of anything but. If the hull was 3mm wider it would be perfect.
Really nice frame for the price. As someone who buys premium frames for racing, i purchased this as a fun little lr project and it’s been great.
My current favorite freestyle frame. Bought a second one as i like it so much. Iflight did a great job on this design.
Xl5 lowrider v3 seems like a nice sturdy frame but be aware if you are using parts you already have like i am your camera may not fit. I have a runcam swift 2 and it does not have room to swivel down. You’ll be stuck at an extreme angle like in the attached pictures. You could probably get bigger standoffs to give more space in the frame but then you will not be able to use the camera mountable sidewalls. You’ll see in the description that it comes with micro camera adapters which i have now ordered. Foxeer predator micro if you’re curious.
Pretty good frame, minor inconsistencies, 2 of my arms were 3. 7mm and the others were 4mm.
- Some issues, but not bad
- Parts Not the Same as Drawing! on 8″ model.
- XL5 Lowrider V3 Does not fit standard FPV camera
Solid bottom frame perfect size , decent price and outstanding packaging.
Pretty sick little frame it’s very durable and fly’s well and hauls some serious ass running emaxx 2306 2400 kv 5s battery. Had some minor vibration issues here and there some soft mounting cleaned them up.
This is an excellent frame, its coated and chamfered. The true x design makes it fly awesome also.
I destroyed it, no frame could handled crash, i hit stadium lighting pole about 100 ft up full speed, but it took tons of abuse before that.
Not bad so far, appears solid and firm. Nice rounded edge carbon arms. My main complaint would be the small fuselage which is about the size of a standard 250 quad. I’ll update once i’ve completed the build and fly a few packs with it.

These iflight frames are cheap, but extremely durable. Some other cheap frames, the screws have a tendency to fall out. Also, these go together nicely and easily. I have the xl5, the xl6 and the il5. All decent frames for the price. They are not an armatton, but they get the job done for the most part.
All these reviews are of the bigger quad it’s not even the same quad don’t understand why your reviews for one quad are on another quad subscription if you want to sell more of these you got to separate the descriptions from each model.
Love the look and feel i have crashed it a couple times already and the top frame splintered a but not bad but overall its a nice frame.
Shipment was super fast 2 days. Packaging looks very professional. The fit and finish are absolutely great. Smooth clean cuts with sanded edges and fit together with ease in less than 5 minutes. Can’t wait for my other parts so i can put it all together. I subtracted 1 star due to there is one piece missing in the drawing which my tool is pointing to and is not in the kit. This part would be a camera mount. I don’t know if that is intentional or just an oversight. I will contact the seller to find out and adjust my review. Update: i contacted the seller and the piece wasn’t missing.
This is a great frame with plenty of space for everything. I have crashed it multiple times, and nothing has happened. I recommend this to anyone who wants a solid frame that you know you can trust. The one thing i didn’t like is that with the fpv camera i was using, it was a little difficult to get the top on because the 2 parts that hold the camera were being pushed apart. But that is not really the frame’s fault. If there was a 4 1/2 stars i would rate it that.

Drawing for xl8 v3 shows press in nuts in the base, but they are pressed in the x shaped cross-member. This has the nuts sticking up in the area below the 4 in 1, pdb or fc stack. Would have preferred the countersunk screws be below the electronics, as in the drawing. See the pic for the parts/drawing comparison. Other than that one difference, this is 8 inch is a very nice long range drone. 5mm thick and are very stiff. When matched with low torque motors, this will make a very nice long range drone. The hardware core is pretty narrow, but it is wide enough for the standard 30.
My xl8 v3 frame arrived in a very nice plastic wrapped box. All the parts and screws were nicely packed in plastic inside. It came with 2 battery straps, foam stick on landing feet and some stickers as well. The cut of the carbon was top notch with chamfered edges on all pieces. There appears to have been some changes made to the way the frame goes together because my build instructions that came with mine are different than the picture in the description. My issue is the press-fit nuts were already installed and 4 of them were installed in the wrong holes. The build instructions i received show all 8 of the press-fit nuts should be installed in the bottom plate. Mine has 4 in the bottom plate and 4 in the mid-plate that goes on top of the arms. Also, there should have been countersunk holes in the mid-plate that allow the screws to sit flush on top and go down through the arms and into the press-fit nuts in the bottom plate. Mine has the countersunk holes in the outer holes where the flight controller should mount.
This is a solid frame, really good for the price.
Best one i’ve purchased hands down.
