HAPPYMODEL Mantis85 85mm FPV Racing Drone Pure Carbon Quadcopter Frame Kit Supers_F4 6A BLHELI_S 5 – love this little thing

I had been watching this quad for a when. It’s tiny but will run 2′ props and is a great deal of entertaining to fly. It was quick to set up in betaflight and bind to my transmitter. The camera mount would not stat tight, but is easily preset with a tiny rubber band – easy. All in all, a good worth and a pleasurable little quadcopter. I am happy i acquired this product.

But the downfall is the battery. It will not maintain any charge at all. I experienced to wait to fly this drone until i purchased other batteries. The enterprise did speak to me later on and reimbursed me for the lousy battery.

Excellent very little flyer out of the box. Nevertheless the frame is poorly intended. The four standoffs that run by the stack is what keeps the major plate hooked up. If (when) your machine can take a crash the nylon screws will brake. I have presently destroyed two esc’s because of this. There is a hole for a standoff in which they mounted the receiver, i believe that if they moved the receiver and utilized the third gap to connect the top rated plate and then just mounted the stack from the bottom plate only this would no lengthier be an concern. So now i am searching for some new standoffs and a third esc. I feel that this is an egregious oversight for a construct that is billed as a starter drone. This problem apart i nonetheless like flying this very little man.

Did little mods with props but,,,, fly every day and i get 5 min times.

Great form and on time, who can request for much more.

Hi happymodel, this is a review and a plea. I bought this mantis85 a little over a year ago. Unfortunately i have never been very happy with it. The batteries never would give enough power and could only ever fly it for less than a minute. I ended trying to new batteries, but before i could use them, a motor has now stop working correctly. The rest of the drone is still in near new condition, but this motor now makes it so i can’t even use it. The motor that went out just seemed to be sluggish at first, but then just went out, completely not working. It seems that the motor wires inside the motor disconnected, making it so no power would go through. So i’m writing this today in hopes that you can make things right. I’m hoping for a replacement motor, just 1.

      1. It’s a fun little quad to fly for line of site flight, but the camera glitches out to the point i am unable to fly fpv.

Great little flyer out of the box. However the frame is poorly designed. The four standoffs that run through the stack is what keeps the top plate attached. If (when) your machine takes a crash the nylon screws will brake. I have already destroyed 2 esc’s because of this. There is a hole for a standoff where they mounted the receiver, i think that if they moved the receiver and used the third hole to attach the top plate and then just mounted the stack from the bottom plate only this would no longer be an issue. So now i’m shopping for some new standoffs and a third esc. I feel that this is an egregious oversight for a build that is billed as a beginner drone. This issue aside i still love flying this little guy.
